The rumor mill can take five, the Google cell phone, the Android  a.k.a. the T-Mobile G1 has launched.

Released on the T-Mobile cellular system in the U.S. may cause a few connectivity issues (at least where I live). The feature set is nice for the basic phone, but it won’t replace your Blackberry or iPhone. At least not yet.

Mashable seems to have a solid review. No doubt they will be joined shortly by others. The Google YouTube video seems to be targeted at a novice user. Not the power users who frequent the smartphone market.

What do you think? How is the phone and where do you think it is going?

… and based on Chrome, the Google web browser, what type of personal information do you think they are capturing?  (Note: As of this writing, I have not seen the EULA).
