This is a bit off topic for this blog, but this is one of the best (and funniest) videos that makes a point near and dear to all of us: education.

Sir Ken Robinson points out that we can’t grasp what will happen in 5 years, yet today’s education “is meant to take us into this future that we can’t grasp.” We may be teaching children, with their capacity for innovation, to suppress it. Robinson suggests “all children have talents, and we squander them. Pretty ruthlessly.”

Sir Ken Robinson led the British government’s 1998 advisory committee on creative and cultural education, a massive inquiry into the significance of creativity in the educational system and the economy, and was knighted in 2003 for his achievements.
